Christianity has always rung true to me – when I worshiped, when I read Scripture, when I studied the great theologians under my father ( RonaldGoetz.com ), and when I put my beliefs into action. I took it as a call to ministry, and for the past twenty years have served as the Pastor of First Congregational Church of Geneva, U.C.C. and served too on the faculty of Elmhurst College, teaching classes in biblical theology and patristic theology (Yes, it’s a thing.)
I am now entered early retirement, if you can call it that. I have some irons in the fire. There are the five children I adopted from China, each one a miraculous gift, but who keep me on my toes. And then there’s the family farm in Southwest Wisconsin I recently purchased, where I am joining the grass roots movement to combat climate change by tilling and keeping the land as God and Mother Nature intended. And of course, there’s the web page....
